Pennies – Budget and Expenses App Reviews

Great app. Does exactly what it should except for one thing. Why cant we input expenses from the Apple Watch. Please add this feature.

Very simple and easy to use. In my last review, i wished for more currency options and in the last update, it did. So im quite satisfied.

...except that it wont open since I updated my phone.

I got this app for free with a Starbucks promotion. So far it is working well, but Id like to see some adjustments: Pros: - I like that it isnt tied to my personal bank account info like some other apps. I prefer to keep that info separate and enter my spending manually - There doesnt seem to be a limit to the number of separate budgets you can have and I like the flexibility of an ongoing budget with or without rolling over the funds or a one-shot budget. - The interface is clear and fairly easy to use. That said, cons: - It can be tiresome to flip through all the budgets to get to the right one. It would be nice to just be able to go to the list and select the budget you want. UPDATE: this has been resolved. You can go to a list and select a budget. - If you want to do a bi-weekly budget, make sure you are doing it on the day you want it to refresh. For example, I get paid every other Thursday. I set up my grocery budget as biweekly on what happened to be a Monday. Even though I told it I wanted it to "refill funds" on Thursday, they still show up Mondays for "the next fortnight." Ill fix that budget on my next payday so it is appropriately aligned. - It is cumbersome to select currency with each budget. I appreciate that the app is international but I feel like that is something that can be done in settings vs every time you set up a budget. Make it a default currency with the option to change if you want to. I dont know how many people have one budget in €, one in £, and another in ¥. But what do I know? I havent traveled internationally since pre-Euro time. Overall this app is helping me stay in budget (a chronic problem for me). I appreciate getting it for free but I still think it can be improved.

If you need an app to control your budget in an easy, quick, and efficient manner - this is it. Moreover, if you travel and have budgets to manage in different currencies, Pennies is your app. Highly recommend. Thanks, Emile.

This app is the best one out. Ive tried many others. The simplicity and direct action this app achieves puts it head and shoulders above others. Worth every penny

I started using this app a few weeks ago after downloading it maybe a year ago. I decided it was time to get serious about my spending and budgeting. Its simple, no complex spreadsheets. Just simple imputing of the amount you spend. I like that you can specify what you spent each input on into a category. The only thing that would make it better, would be if you could just scan your receipts and it did everything for you but thats just me being lazy. Lol!

Ive used this app for a few weeks and Ive enjoyed it throughout the past weeks. Its simple, easy to use, and very straightforward. I like not having to link the app to your bank, and I like the lack of ads.

Fun and easy way to track spending and stay within a budget.

This is the easiest way Ive found to keep track of my spending. Thats all I need... -- quick entry and, yes, off I go spending more, but at least I know where I stand. The iPad version and the super-solid iCloud syncing work flawlessly. Id love having the option of entering items in different currencies. (Then Id use Pennies when traveling, too -- how great would that be?) Please bring back the ability to enter expenses on the Apple Watch, too. That was really handy. Just a solid app, and the the developer is on top of things.

Ive been using this APP for a month now. It helps me stay on track of my budget. Its very easy to use. I just wish exporting data was FREE (its an extra $1.99).

I dont like this app at all. I get 2 seconds into using and I get kicked off. I tried changing my budget and it froze on me. Not worth $5....

Ive been using the app for about 2 months now, and its pretty great! I buy breakfast, snacks, & lunch from my office cafeteria, so this allows me to track all those little purchases throughout the week. One TINY tweak I have is that I wish I could set it for a 5-day week, rather than 7 days (I budget specifically for food during the work week). It wouldnt matter, except it affects the automatically caculated daily allotment. But other than that TINY wish, I love this app. Its really helped me track (and control) my spending!

This app has allowed me to easily budget and track my spendings. It is designed with a slick and simple interface anyone can benefit from using.

The simplicity is awesome though I wish there was an option to view total spent across all budgets.

Wiped out my starting budgets when it updated a few updates ago, but otherwise very reliable and easy to use!
